Coming soon to KillZone Records is a new album from one of the most awe inspiring artists that we have ever had the pleasure to work with. KSK is the one man project of an enigmatic player known as Zc4.
KSK is extreme, make no mistake about it. Combining metal, industrial, teknopunk, hardcore techno, drum and bass that are somehow fused and melded together by this force of alchemy known as Zc4, into a mind melting digital beat down and face shredding metal insanity that will please fans of Aborym and Diabolicum, a sort of nekro, postmodern black metal framework with hardcore techno and industrial jackhammering with a punk attitude.

Mystical Fullmoon's new album 'Scoring a Liminal Phase - Ten Strategies for Postmodern Mysticism is set to be released very soon on KillZone Records through iTunes. Featuring 10 tracks and 73 minutes plus of post modern black metal with an air of avant garde that combines orchestral symphonic passages with dissonant soundscapes and raw elements of black metal.
This new album for the band which has been in existence for 15 years in one form or another in Italy, sees the band pushing the boundaries of what black metal is with the direction they have taken the music, scale, and philosophical approach and ambition of this album.

Just had a quick update from PowerDrive guitarist/vocalist Rob Lund who right now are working on their second album. PowerDrive are an awesome metal act hailing from Sweden and Madrid who have really captured that vibe of the best of metal in the vein of Megadeth, Metallica, Pantera and Alice in Chains, with a huge, beefed up sound for the modern age. The Raygun Girls have undergone one helluva journey to get here from the time KillZone Records first saw them perform in Florida in 06 which has seen the band survive a band line up change plus all the normal hard times surviving life in New York state, which also included for founder/guitarist Geoff his third open heart surgery. This is one tough band. The Raygun Girls are built to endure and hit back with hard metal grooves that hit with a punk rock attitude, some goth atmosphere and modern heavy industrial beats just to ram the point home. PowerDrive Rehearsal Video from 'Freedom Of Speech'

PowerDrive have been tearing it up with their debut album 'Freedom Of Speech' which was released digitally through KillZone Records. The band initially was a 2-piece featuring Miguel and Rob, who recorded 'Freedom Of Speech' themselves an impressive feat considering that Miguel lived in Madrid and Rob in Stockholm, Sweden.The pair split instrumental duties (including Miguel playing drums) and tracking and editing and mixing and mastering themselves.
As 'Freedom of Speech' was released the band grew to prepare for live playing and PowerDrive as a fully functioning band came about. The band all got together this past June in Madrid and jammed. Here below for all their fans is a home shot compilation video of those rehearsals. In an ironic note the drumming had to be done on a Roland TD7 electric drum kit because the full sized kit was just too loud.

Digital Music The Future and KillZone Records

As an independent label we are doing all we can to survive and prevail the double blow of the recession and the upheaval that has affected the music industry as a whole. As a result we have been busy developing our capability with digital releases. We plan to continue to develop our online presence and digital capability to be able to offer artists package services that will give them the chance to increase their presence and sales at no cost to them. That includes digital fees and online promotional services that would normally be paid to places such as iTunes by individual bands or artists. We offer digital distribution that is faster and more efficient and we compensate our artists at a much higher rate financially than Mechanical Rights recommend. We also take care of all online promotional costs and submissions to the media.
Your release will still be promoted in the same way as a CD release and to us is just as valid and important.
In return we will provide you with links, widgets and embed codes for you to place online delivering access to your releases to your fans quickly, without you having to do any of the work.
Our recording contracts are not contracts in the old and accepted form of the term that nails bands down. We have licensing agreements that run for a set fixed term. More importantly as artists you keep your rights to your music and these agreements are based on a single release so as artists you are not bound to the label outside of the music released by KillZone Records.
Also unless we agree on specific terms for licensing any merchandise, we leave those entirely for the band, and where we can we can connect you to promotions for live appearances we will. We will also help you promote regardless of whether the gig(s) were set up as part of the label or not.
We believe that we can work creatively with our artists in developing new ways to promote online, because we believe that the digital side is not being exploited to its fullest potential not just in terms of social networks to promote, but more importantly in how the label promotes its artists.
We have some interesting names and music coming via digital release and if you are an artist or group that has music ready we can offer you a quick and cost effective way of getting your presence developed.
This does not mean we are doing away with CD releases, it just means that it is getting harder to justify the costs of production in a market of declining sales. We will still be selectively releasing CD's. Right now because of the recession it has been harder to raise the capital to invest in CD releases and we have a group of artists who have releases on CD which are waiting in the wings once we can raise the investment.
And this is where a part of the problem lies.
A lot of the main stream metal music media refuse to take digital only releases, because to them its not a real release. Yet as downloads of any kind increase as people find quicker and more efficient ways to access and store music, and who look to other means outside that media, [they] all still want your money to pay for advertising whose costs are substantially higher and in desperation they offer cut prices which prove damaging, just to fill space. Look at what happened to Metal Maniacs and Metal Edge-gone. Still CD sales continue to pile into the ground and still metal acts want CD's. This is because as metal fans we all love to get our favorite artists releases which was and for many is still more than just about the music. Its that feeling of its really real. Its perverse. So what we intend to do is to be able to offer artists something different for each release. We open our doors to different genres of metal music and extreme sounds and see KillZone Records as more than just a producer of music but more as a facilitator to help our artists develop creatively as well as gaining awareness, which we hope will ultimately be more satisfying. The CD may still be alive in the world of metal and all its related genres but the pressure to face the future is real and we wish to be prepared for this to better help our artists and their fans.

Brazilian doom band Lacryma Sanguine have announced the title of their brand new album as the follow up to 'As The Autumn Ends' EP which was released through iTunes and Amazon.com
The album is to be called 'Amongst These Walls'. We hope to bring you more details soon The album has been recorded over multiple sessions some of which the band have documented on their website for you to check out with more studio diaries from the making of will be added. Church ov Melkarth is one of the most unusual projects signed to KillZone Records combining ambient dark noise, power noise, drones and raw black metal with Gregorian Chants to create some of the darkest, creepiest extreme sounds that you will ever hear. Combined with a raw, almost minimalist production which only seems to serve the overall effect of something trying to break through from the other side.
The project will be performing live for only the second time in the band's career. The first time was in January 2007 when they played in Austin Texas supporting some of the most underground black metal acts in the Southern US, such as Bahimiron and headlined by the mighty Inquisition. The live spectacle even managing to unnerve some the audience.
On Monday May 4 at the Jet Lounge, and their only Texas date this year the project will be supporting doom/sludge band Sourvein.

KillZone Records has been working hard to bring you new metal releases and we want to unveil some of what we have been working to you. While the economic downturn has slowed progress down we are still continuing to produce metal music. We will for the time being continue to produce CD releases alongside our expanding digital releases. The aim is once the economy picks up again is to produce this releases while we continue to develop our digital distribution through as many different licenses and vendors as we can.
So starting with our next release for both CD and Digital release: The Raygun Girls with their killer debut album 'Dirt Collector'.
'Dirt Collector' will be appearing on iTunes first with the CD to follow shortly afterwards. This is an album chock full of standout songs that combine modern metal with punk, gothic, industrial and alternative influences. Check out this gydget which has a new track not before featured. PowerDrive:" No Damn Egos in this band"- founders talk about 'Freedom of Speech' and the band

New KillZone Records Signings PowerDrive have unleashed one helluva metal album called 'Freedom Of Speech'. So who is PowerDrive and how did they come up with such huge sounding debut release that just beggars belief? Well, meet Miguel and Rob. You could use the same old cliches and bad metaphors about them being the power behind PowerDrive....but no you won't. Its been done to beyond death hasn't it? But could they be the next metallic dynamic duo?
'Freedom of Speech' was written, recorded and produced by Miguel and Rob as two musicians and was originally named 'Steel Root's' and all throughout this album the serious passion for creating quality metal can be felt in every chord and every riff and every drum beat and every note played. 'Freedom of Speech' has a charisma and authority to it that makes it hard to believe that this is a debut album. With two new members to take over the drum and bass slots recruited, leaving Miguel and Rob the guitars and vocals, and, the band already working on album number 2.
So meet Rob and Miguel in excerpts of a conversation as they talk about the album and their passion to metal.

"We both have our studios at home at Madrid and Stockholm and have been producing/recording music for a very long time, so the long distance was not a problem at all. The recording process was very smooth and the album was completed on less than four months, including 16 tracks ( 5 of them still unreleased ).
I was recording my parts and sending them to Robin while Robin was doing the same on a daily basis...we shared so many ideas, we tried so many different things......... and the most important thing of all, we enjoyed every single second out of it!!!!!
I'd say that studio sessions are something natural for us. You can call us studio junkies.
"The guitar riffs can come from either one of us. We have different styles when playing, different spices we use, that is also one thing that really completes the music. Lets say I come up with a riff but then I get stuck, I send Miguel the ideas and the next day he sends me ideas of his own that match perfect with the vision I had, its like he knew what needed to be done. The same thing will happen if he shows me a song idea, if I feel inspiration from the ideas I record whatever comes to mind whether its vocals, solos, riffs or drums fills and tempos and we move on to the next step until its finished and we are BOTH satisfied. Its all about THE SONG, not the person writing this and that. "I wrote this you wrote that bla bla bla" We don't care about small things like that. The end product is what we are looking for.
"The way we make the album so powerful is simple, we both like powerful productions so we are drawn to have a final mix and master as powerful as we need it to be. We don't have limits in what we think we can do. So we learn the "how to" and then we just do it. I have a good ear when mixing and mastering and Miguel has good judgment on what works. Combining those skills and we have the vision in form of music, ready to be shared. Its a legendary team, no doubt about it.
"We work really hard on our music. It means that every little detail counts.
The key for us is to stay focussed on one objective: writing the best songs that we can come up with. Plain and simple
"No damn egos in this band. If an idea works, it doesn't really matters who brought it up. IMO big egos kill most of the bands. When it comes to lyrics, I always try to express my personal feelings along with my concerns about society,
not much political talk and definitely not the typical "metal stereotypes" about murder, death and so....
"Speaking of the inspiration, well , obviously I love old school metal bands such as Pantera or Metallica but what makes us unique is the mixing of styles...when I first met Robin he was more into Hard Rock and progressive Metal and I was more focussed into more hardcore metal with bands like Five Finger Death Punch or All that Remains... it's been some sort of mutual discovering, he told me about bands really cool bands that I never listened before (Godsmack, Alice in Chains or even Symphony X). Melody plays a very important role in our music and that's the real difference between us and the rest of the bands out there. We do care about making GOOD SONGS not being the fastest, heaviest or angriest MF on the planet."
Metal rocks my world. Period.Even if I am not a closed minded person when it comes to music the energy, the power, the adrenaline discharge that metal pumps though my veins cannot by matched by anything else ....it's pretty hard to describe with words....to be honest ,we all can't wait to start touring to share with our fans all that energy on stage. Our new members, Asier (bass) and Ivan (Drums), are crazy metal heads as well, so you can do the math very easily.......
"Metal music is powerful music, aggressive and brutal, something that moves mountains. I like all kinds of music but metal is what I usually listen to and if we talk about performing, metal is IMO the strongest way to express the anger people feel inside, weather you are singer or screaming your guts out or if you are moshing away in a pit. Anger is a part of life and so is metal, its here to stay and so are the boys of POWERDRIVE. Loads of bands play because its fun and its nothing wrong with that, but we play because its a passion. Its something larger than life. Unexplainable, really.
"Picking up my fav tune from the album ain't easy....I'd say that STARTING OVER reflects who we are at 100% with that blelnd of powerful riffs with melodic vocals....but I can't forget about FINAL CHAPTER , SILVER BULLET; TREAT or SELF DETERMINATION as well...damn, it's one hell of an album, so if you are reading this and you haven't purchased it yet, what are you waiting for?"

Devolved to Return to Texas

Extreme Tech Metallers Devolved are returning to Texas in late May, early June. Exact details are not yet known but as dates become available look for them to be blogged and plans do include a date in Austin where the band got some strong support on the 2 dates the band played, one in supporting Divine Heresy and the other an off night show, late last year.
Devolved are amazing to see live if you have not yet had the check out the live footage.
There are plans to release Devolved's stunning debut 'Technologies' in the US for the first time. It was released in 2001 in their home country Australia, earning them the accolade of 'Best Metal Album' and 'Best Metal Act'. The band toured Australia both headlining and in support of some of the biggest names in metal. The band made history by becoming the first ever extreme metal act to be signed to Sony BMG (Australia), They were the first extreme metal act in Australia to receive extensive daytime commercial radio support and the band released 'Calculated'. The band in this time also toured Europe the UK and the Far East independently.
Devolved and the word 'independence' become intertwined as the band took the breathtaking step to re-locate to the US to begin anew with new members rather than remain in Australia.
The band are currently working on their third album and the material promises to deliver some huge material showcasing how much they have improved on themselves with relentless drive to perfect. In the meantime the band signed with KillZone Records to license their debut 'Technologies' in North America. For some unknown reason the band seemed to go unnoticed by the US with the exception of some of the more aware fans.
The plan is to release 'Technologies' with its own version of the artwork and with 2 new tracks,the first of any new music in several years since 'Calculated' which have been mixed by Grammy award winning producer Neil Kernon (Judas Priest, Nevermore, Spiral Architect, Queensryche, Nile, Tapping The Vein and many others) and loaded with bonus videos.
However the underlying consensus has 'death knell' written all over the future of the CD but as far as we're concerned, that is a slow bleed down to the metal market as many fans still want CDs despite the fact of P2P and illegal downloading from other sources.
KillZone Records has several releases including Devolved that have had plans basically put on hold by the fallout of the recession. 'Technologies' is a great metal release and even preferred by many as their favorite Devolved album. The aim was to have it released as an introduction to America to Devolved as a precursor to their next album. That's still the plan and are still actively seeking the right investment to launch this band in their plans to conquer America.

After 3 years Church ov Melkarth return with a brand new digital release to challenge your perceptions. Church of Melkarth create music in a way many people have never had the opportunity to experience. 'For The Darkness' continues the trend from CoM of no compromise that began with their first release on KillZone Records back in 2005 called 'The Sermon of Hate'. Although these are much shorter pieces they still command the listener to pay full attention, creating strange and unsettling atmospheres that make you feel like something is trying to break through from the other side. Dendura in Studio 1-16 December cutting the new album

Egyptian themed prog metallers Dendura are currently in the studio laying down their new album with Grammy Award Winning Producer Neil Kernon (Judas Priest, Nevermore, Nile, Spiral Architect, Queensryche, Cannibal Corpse, Deicide) in Grand Rapids MI. The drum tracks having already been laid down in Chicago, the band have already worked through nearly all the rhythm guitars also. The album, which is not yet titled, is tentatively scheduled for release in March 09.

The Raygun Girls Announce brand new drummer

New York, NY (October, 2008) – The Raygun Girls announces the addition
of Doc MacNab as the first live drummer to play with the band.

The Raygun Girls is a NY Hard Rock band that has been compared to
Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Stabbing Westward, and Killing Joke. Up
until now, the band has always programmed the drums and played to a
computer on stage.

After signing a label deal with KillZone Records, and releasing the EP,
“Fire Inside”, available on Itunes, The Raygun Girls immediately began
working on new material for a full length album. The band quickly
realized that to make the album as powerful as it truly needed to be,
they had to have a live drummer.

For the album, The Raygun Girls were lucky enough to be working with
Co-Producer Brian Herman at SMT Studios in NYC. He also added the
powerful drumming that the band required for their forthcoming album,
“Dirt Collector”.

As mixing on “Dirt Collector” began, The Raygun Girls also began to
audition drummers. Doc MacNab caught the band's attention with his
ability to improvise over the samples and drum loops without
overpowering the sound, as well as with his background.

Doc MacNab is a pop, rock and fusion drummer who has played around the
world with artists like the US Department of Defense touring band,
Broken Wings, as part of Haak-MacNab (with German-born Megatar
virtuoso, Dino Haak), and has also supported noteworthy players in the
industry like Artis the Spoonman, singer/songwriter Pat McGee, Chapman
Stick and Mobius Megatar virtuoso Dino Haak, and singer Katy Cornell.

Under the moniker Nightwave, Doc spun Goth and Industrial dance hits in
clubs from Chapel Hill, NC, to Washington, DC. He was also Program
Director and General Manager at WVCW radio in Richmond, VA.

With a tasteful and mature approach to his playing, Doc lends a sonic
base to The Raygun Girls that has long been missing.

In other related news mixing on 'Dirt Collector' has been completed and the mastering is being arranged for the first singles and video shoot.

Its been a long time coming.....and its nearly here. The CD is nearly ready and let me tell you, its definitely worth it. Dark Empire are a band to watch they have made a classic metal album. Its a great marriage of the modern and the traditional styles of melodies: Heavy riffs that are steeped in thrash and harsh vocals that are very pervasive in modern metal, then mix those elements with a great lead vocalist whose voice and the melodies hark back to the late 70's and early 80's. A bit Dark Tranquility circa Character, Arch Enemy, a bit of Metallica/Megadeth you chose, and add a dash of Priest influence combine that metal drive with the wizardry of say Symphony X and that's Dark Empire.
What's great about Dark Empire is there music has the potential to touch a great cross section of fans. The playing is very accomplished for a younger band. These guys play with great dexterity, confidence and aplomb, but the end result is not necessarily to bedazzle you with technical playing, but to really hit that spot with great metal. Metal that makes you wanna rock. Its up lifting and epic without being grandiose and pompous and with such a strong sound that gives it that metal justification to be great. I believe that such is the appeal of Dark Empire.
'Humanity Dethroned' just has something for fans of metal it has just that right amount of grit in its sound and power that fans of melodic death metal especially those who are fans of that 'Gothenburg Sound' would like yet its riffing is pure thrash based with some progressive flavor. Yet, also 'Humanity Dethroned' in its classic metal approach would be eaten up by fans of Megadeth or Metallica, or Testament etc, etc.
Dark Empire are band worthy of your attention and time if you are a true fan of metal. With 'Humanity Dethroned' KillZone Records offers you the chance to own this 10 track, 55 minute classic metal album. KillZone Records Artists The Raygun Girls are the Label's most played and downloaded artists on MP3.com and ReverbNation. The band came to KillZone Records attention back in 2006 when they showcased at the Rock Solid Pressure Showcase that takes place in Florida every year. The Rock Solid Pressure Showcase is one of the premier independent showcases for new bands to perform in front of record labels and is growing each year. The Raygun Girls stood out because they were very different from the Pantera/Slipknot influenced brand of bands that filled out the roster for the Metal showcase.
The band signed to the Label and they released a digital EP called 'Fire Inside' which is available on iTunes and to eMusic subscribers. Off of that EP the single 'Look At Me' shot to Number 1 on the Independent Artists Company's Metal and Hardcore charts for a month earning them a Golden Kayak nomination for it.

Grammy Award winning producer Neil Kernon (Queensryche, Judas Priest, Nevermore, Spiral Architect) is set to produce Dendura's debut release for KillZone Records.

Legendary Music Producer Neil Kernon who over the years has worked with some of the biggest names in Rock and Metal has agreed to produce Dendura's next album to be released on KillZone Records.

The band have spent the last few months writing and rehearsing the new material and we will keep you up dated as the new material takes form. The band have just recently finished laying down the drums.

In the meantime the band will be appearing at the only female fronted metal fest in the US-Flight of The Valkyries alongside Unexpect and Benedictum
